Day 43: Back to Basics

This morning I have decided to go back to the basics on this modified fast.  For the next week I will go back to the simple shakes, soups and water.  No Egg Beaters, no Sweet & Low or Splenda.  It's going to be a test of sorts.  I want to see how I do back on the very basic, no frills diet.

I didn't lose much weight last week AND I had several days where I was very hungry.  I am thinking it could be related to the increase in drinking Crystal Light, diet sodas and fake sugar in my tea as well as my daily dose of Egg Beaters.  I have been using the Egg Beaters/Egg Whites to get some food in my stomach early in the day - but what if I go back to drinking a few shakes before noon?  Will that help ease some of my hunger?  As for the sugar-substitute ... we've all read about the concerns that they can actually lead to weight gain because it makes you crave more sugar.  Maybe that's part of the reason I have been hungry.  I'll see if this trial week makes a difference.
